Wherever the full names of people not connected with a respective company’s leadership appear in any of these releases, I have omitted last names to preserve privacy.

The Real Deal Brazil (RDB) recycled-tarp hat was hardly a conventional brand/product, its key selling point being that it was a key prop in the 2009 Hollywood blockbuster Zombieland (thanks to an earlier PR campaign in which I pitched the hat to more counter-culturally oriented publications, such as tattoo magazines). For that reason, RDB press releases (along with the social media posts I also handled, and which I used to solicit these pictures from RDB fans) were a bit unconventional at times. It worked for the brand, and I won’t say it wasn’t a lot of fun, to boot. (That little thumbs-up guy in the bottom right-hand corner, by the way, is me.)
