I initiated the Access East newsletter as a quarterly email release in 2016, putting it on indefinite hold after the spring 2020 issue, in the face of massive workplace changes arising from the COVID pandemic, and the subsequent lack of in-person staff interactions or my own limited safe access to many employees who were working remotely across eastern North Carolina. The newsletter has since returned as a very intermittent undertaking, as company news dictates.
Note that all personally identifying information has been obscured for any mentioned employees in the samples linked below, beyond what is readily available on Access East’s public website.

Spring 2020 newsletter samples. This was the last issue before COVID changes rapidly ensued, and includes coverage of the last large staff gatherings, as company events were already beginning to be cancelled due to safety concerns.
These samples are from the early summer 2022 41-page special edition of the Access East newsletter, which covered the more than two years of upheaval, and health-care innovation, arising out of the COVID pandemic. Our teams were tasked by Vidant Health (now ECU Health) to lead the health system’s community efforts to address this historic health crisis.
